^ Back to Documentation

This manual contains installation, configuration and usage information for the Scriptalicious MySpace Script.

  1. Installing MySpace Script
  2. Configuring Your Site
  3. Troubleshooting

Installing MySpace Script

Installing the script requires a PHP 4.x enabled server (and optionally MySQL for the train script). Basic knowledge of FTP and an FTP client will be needed to upload the software to your server.

Once you have successfully downlaoded the script, unzip the file on your desktop or somewhere easy to remember. You should now have a folder named SMyS-x.x.zip (where `x.x` is the version number).

Using your favorite FTP client, upload the contents of the new folder to your Web server. Make sure you upload all files to the folder you want the site to run on. Usually this will be `public_html` or `htdocs`, but you can also upload the files to a subfolder or subdomain on your site.

Once all of your files have been uploaded, you must edit config.php with your specific site settings. Then load up your favorite browser and head to your new site!

If you are using the train script, you will need a MySQL database and access to MySQL command line or phpMyAdmin. Run the file `smys-0.9c.sql` to install the database tables for the train, and set your database settings in config.php.

Configuring Your Site

Configuring the MySpace Script is done with config.php. The config.php file contains all settings for your Web site, including the optional database connection parameters for the train script.
